By accessing the Au Pair section of this website, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms govern the use of our introductory platform and social support services.

1. Scope of Service

  • Introductory Platform Only: Home Care Assistants Ireland Ltd operates as a matching and introduction platform for Au Pairs and Host Families.
  • Not an Employment Agency: We do not provide employment placement services, nor do we act as an employer or recruitment agency.
  • Cultural Focus: Our services are designed to facilitate cultural exchange and provide social community support through organised trips and networking.

2. Nature of Agreements

  • Private Arrangements: Any agreement regarding stay, duties, or pocket money is a private matter between the Au Pair and the Host Family.
  • No Contractual Involvement: We do not draft, review, or enforce the specific employment terms or contracts between parties.
  • Legal Compliance: Host Families and Au Pairs are solely responsible for ensuring their arrangement complies with Irish statutory laws, including the National Minimum Wage and tax obligations.

3. Mediation and Support

  • Social Support: We provide access to community events, trips, and social networking for Au Pairs to promote their well-being while in Ireland.
  • Interpersonal Mediation: We offer non-binding advisory support and recommendations in the event of interpersonal friction or communication breakdowns.
  • Emergency Support: We provide a point of contact for Au Pairs who feel unsafe or neglected.

4. Fees and Payments

  • Au Pair Policy: We do not charge Au Pair candidates any fees for our introduction or support services.
  • Host Family Policy: Host Families are charged a nominal platform fee for the use of our matching services.
  • No Wage Handling: We do not handle, collect, or distribute payments (pocket money or wages) between the parties.

Weekly Pocket Money (Allowance)

The weekly pocket money or allowance is a matter agreed privately between the Host Family and the Au Pair. The amount should reflect applicable Irish legal requirements regarding minimum wage and permitted board and lodging deductions.

  • Conduct of Third Parties: Home Care Assistants Ireland Ltd is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or legal dispute arising from the actions or omissions of any Host Family or Au Pair.
  • Accuracy of Information: We review information provided by participants in good faith but cannot guarantee the absolute accuracy or truthfulness of information provided by third parties.
